Yes, we race and cruise...  but we also gather with no other purpose than to enjoy good food and each other's company. 

 

We also volunteer with Lake Lanier Association's annual "Shore Sweep", a large lake clean-up project held each September.

This year, we're excited to announce the return of the post-race dirt-up where racers gather together after the races to eat, drink and tell true racing lies.

Dean Holcomb Poker Run & Chili Cookoff
Branch House Tavern (Flowery Branch)

Held New Year's Day... Don't miss the fiercely competitive post-Poker Run Chili/Chowder/Stew/Soup Cook-off.
 

Awards Dinner

You may not recognize us cleaned up and in our party clothes. Gather as we recognize fellow members with club awards and share the changing of the board.

Blessing of the Fleet 
Many thanks to officiants Sheri and Hugh Smith as we resumed our annual blessing ceremony this year. 

 

April

Joan Holcomb Women Skippers Regatta Awards Ceremony

Cohosted with LLSC, we held the regatta on Saturday, April 22nd. Good wind allowed for two races before becoming too windy. Dana Stewart (many thanks!) graciously hosted this year's awards ceremony as the LLSC clubhouse was undergoing weather-related repairs.

Brunch on the Lake
This year, cruisers enjoyed a delicious brunch on Saturday, May 6th, while rafted up for the First Saturday Cruise.

Join us Saturday, June 24th, as we soc
ialize over Lobster Boil, Smoked Barbeque Half-Chicken, and Veggie Skewers.

Returning Saturday, August 12th, the island steak-out is not to be missed.

Lake Lanier Association (LLA) Shore Sweep

Join "Team Barefoot Sailing Club" as we have a fun day cleaning the lake's shoreline with hundreds of other LLA volunteers in this long-running event.

Barefoot Open Regatta's Saturday Night Party
University Yacht Club (new venue!)

Dinner, raffle & silent auction, live music (Thunder Gypsy), and dancing. Arguably even more fun than the racing!
