Welcome to Barefoot Sailing Club (BFSC) on Lake Lanier, Georgia.


Founded in 1971 (53 years ago!), we originally focused on dinghy racing.  But, over the years have expanded much further.  Members enjoy racing on cruisers and racing boats, cruising around the lake and rafting up for social activities.

This Saturday, November 2nd, Barefoot Sailing Club (BFSC) is sending four of our best racers to compete in the 28th UYC Lanier Cup.  Sponsored by the UYC Maritime Foundation since 1997, the Lanier Cup is eagerly anticipated by Lanier racers each November.  Teams from BFSC, LLSC and UYC fiercely compete for bragging rights and the prized Lanier Cup "Red Hats."  A current PHRF certificate of 111 or higher is required.  And each club is allowed up to two spinnaker entries.


BFSC captured the cup in both 2016 and 2017 and last year placed 2nd!  To learn more, refer to the 2024 UYC Lanier Cup event.
