Follow FB for rescheduling details.

Join us on Saturday, September 6th as we stake out an island and enjoy grilled steaks on the beach! There are many options available that day.

  •  Want to participate in a First Saturday Sail?  You can do that!

  •  Want to participate in only the Steak Out?  You can do that!

  •  Want to swim, play games, hang out on the beach?  You can do that!

  •  Want to raft up?  You can do that, too!

  •  Want to do it all?  You can!

When and where is the Steak Out?

The planned location for the Steak Out is 34.215200, -84.011373 (34°12'54.7"N 84°00'40.9"W). This is on the southeast side of Four Mile Island. The best route for keel boats is to go around south of Three Sisters, turn northeast and approach the cove from the east. There are shallows south of the cove.

The Steak Out on the beach will occur from 3 - 7 pm but plan to leave for the site earlier if you need transportation. A pontoon will be available to/from the site if you aren't staying overnight.

What time and where do I need to be?

That depends on your plans for the day. Here's what you need to know:

  1. If you are not rafting up overnight, please join us for breakfast at Sugar Hill Diner at 10.

  2. Bring your chairs, etc. you want shuttled to the island to Aqualand V dock no later than 11:30.

    • For those wishing to proceed to the Steak Out, pontoon boat(s) will leave from the courtesy dock near Pig Tales at noon.

    • For those wishing to enjoy the First Saturday Cruise, proceed to the boat assigned at the breakfast meeting. A boat will be available to bring you to the Steak Out after cruising (approx. 2pm).

  3. If you miss the noon boat at Pig Tales, there will be a pickup at Two Mile Creek Park at 2pm if needed. Text 404-964-9803 to arrange pickup. Note, Two Mile Creek Park charges fees of $8/vehicle and $3/pedestrian.

A shuttle (aka the pontoon) will return to Aqualand and Two Mile Creek Park (if needed) between 8 - 8:30 pm.

What should I bring?

Bring a lawn chair, camp table, swimsuit, beach towel, sunscreen, and whatever you plan to sit and eat on. ALSO, please bring your own plate, cup, and utensils (incl steak knife). You may want to bring a sturdy plate to carve your steak on.

What are we doing?

Besides eating, we will swim, play cards, horseshoes and possibly bocce ball.

What are we eating?

Enjoy a steak with an ear of corn and salad or choose the “Impossible Burger” veggie option. We'll provide corn, butter, condiments, buns, soft drinks, water and ice. Remember to BYOB.

What else is being provided?
BFSC will provide music, grills, tables, pop-ups, boiler, propane, changing tent, camp toilet & supplies.

What about bathrooms?

A privacy tent and camping toilet (advertised weight capacity 433 lbs.), with paper and cleaning supplies will be made available for changing and personal use.  Users will be expected to follow posted instructions, individually bag waste, and leave the facility clean and empty upon exit.

How can I help?

We need lots of help and can't do it without volunteers! We need someone to skipper Favored End. We need a few appetizers and snacks. And we'll need help setting up and cleaning up. Please refer to the volunteer sign up to see where your assistance is needed.

Anything else I need to know?

Registration is now closed, but for reference, 2025 tickets cost:

  • Steak with sides: $30/person

  • Impossible Burger with sides: $20/person
