The party will begin approximately 15:00 at the Branch House Tavern (5466 McEver Rd, Flowery Branch, Ga 30542) . Cost for the party is $5 per person (payable in cash at the event) to cover BFSC costs, free for participants that bring Chili/Chowder/Stew/Soup or some other hot food offering (the Branch House Mgmt is allowing us to bring these items in to the restaurant). It will be the responsibility of the those attending the social gathering at the Branch House to purchase your own beverages, or other non-provided entrees at your own expense.
The event will be governed by the "rules" as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2017-2020 and by commonly accepted Poker Rules (see Appendix B).
This is a fun event! If a boat is so inclined, it may even motor around the course, however, motoring boats will give way to those under sail
Skippers will get their first card at the Skipper’s meeting. This card will be in an envelope that you will be allowed to open before you start on your journey.
A course will be given at the Skipper’s meeting. The course will consist of marks on the lake in Flowery Branch Bay and/or Chattahoochee Bay areas. Boats are free to choose the order in which they take the marks.
Envelopes containing cards will be attached to each mark. Boats should take only one envelope at each mark. The envelopes must remain sealed—any opened envelopes will be disqualified.
Boats will bring the five cards (one from the Skipper’s meeting plus four in sealed envelopes) to the Chili/Chowder/Stew/ Soup Cook-off party.
The best hands presented to the committee at the Chili/Chowder/Stew/Soup Cook-off party will receive prizes.
