The 48th Annual Barefoot Open (BFO) October 7-9, is an event not to be missed! This is the longest continually running regatta on Lake Lanier.  And this year... the Saturday night party resumes with Thunder Gypsy!

Two full days of racing for all fleets. The weekend will still be one of the best venues for lake racing, plus knowledgeable and experienced race committee and judges. See our PHOTO GALLERY to get a better idea.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Due to a new Sunrise Cove Marina corporate requirement, anytime alcohol is consumed at clubhouse rental events, we must provide Hall County security. At a minimum of 4hrs/$400, 3 days of events would total $1,200.

To keep the event affordable, we're only budgeting to allow alcohol on the premises for Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. The Friday night skippers meeting will be a dry (alcohol-free) event. Please respect that we need to abide by these marina guidelines in order to keep the regatta affordable. To clarify, it's not whether or not we're serving the alcohol, it's whether alcohol is being consumed at the event.  Thanks for your understanding.

SKIPPERS:
Get your LLPHRF.  Though we'll require LLPHRFs for the regatta, if you don't have one, you can go ahead and register online without it. Be sure to submit an application for one (obtain form here). The certificate will be good for the rest of 2022.

CREW WITHOUT A BOAT:

Sign up on our crew board below. Although we can't guarantee everyone will find a boat, we're encouraging skippers to check here for crew. We'll share your contact details when requested.

Note: please understand that some skippers require a fully vaccinated crew.

VOLUNTEERS:

"All hands on deck!"  As you can imagine, it takes a few volunteers to run this regatta.  Everyone from folks arranging logistics... to marketing... to coordinating the auction... to running the races and dropping marks... to serving the food and  finally, cleaning up and stowing club gear.
