49th Barefoot Open Regatta (BFO)
October 13 - 15, 2023

The Barefoot Open is the longest continually running regatta on Lake Lanier.  

And this year we're moving to a new venue... the University Yacht Club!

Two full days of racing for all fleets. The weekend will still be one of the best venues for lake racing, plus knowledgeable and experienced race committee and judges. See our PHOTO GALLERY to get a better idea. The Notice of Race will be posted shortly with Sailing Instructions to be posted closer to the race weekend.​​

• REGISTER BOAT ($60), PURCHASE DINNER PARTY TICKETS ($40) AND/OR  T-SHIRTS ($25 - $38)

  • 2023 NOTICE OF RACE (NOR)

  • Saturday evening, we'll have dinner catered by the University Yacht Club. AND live music and dancing with Thunder Gypsy! 

  • Short and long-sleeve quick dry BFO shirts are available for online order in link above. Pickup Friday night (or make alternative arrangements w/us).

  • For Barefoot baseball caps and burgees, visit our Shop instead.

  • Skippers, be sure to get your LLPHRF.  Though we'll require LLPHRFs for the regatta, if you don't have one, you can go ahead and register online without it. Be sure to submit an application for one (contact LLPH folks here). The certificate will be good for the rest of 2023.

  Skippers and Crew, use the Crew/Skipper Availability Board to find each other. Note, contact info is public on this board.
   

• SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER
  "All hands on deck!"  As you can imagine, it takes a few volunteers to run this regatta.  Everyone from folks arranging logistics... to marketing... to coordinating the auction... to running the races and dropping marks... to serving the food and finally, cleaning up and stowing club gear. We could use your help wherever you'd like to contribute. THANK YOU in advance for your participation.
